NERA Conference: Orlando, 14OCT - 19OCT

If you would like to attend the NERA National Conference, you can submit for non-pay AT orders via NROWS. The only way you’ll receive paid orders is if you have not fulfilled your obligated AT days and your unit, NOSC, and NOLA approves of the funding.  Right now, the latest word is that there is no funding; nevertheless, you can try. 

To submit for non-pay orders in NROWS use the conference location address (in Orlando).  All the information for the conference to use in NROWS is on the registration form.  Jennifer Abbott can be the POC.  Because they are non-paid, just about any NERA officer can sign the orders when you arrive and depart.

Presidents Message

Message from New President: EOC Tony Little

Greetings, I am Tony Little EOC (RET), and your new Atlanta chapter president. The road that brought me here is filled with ironies, twists and turns that even Hollywood couldn‘t reproduce. For starters Bill Bradshaw has been recalled to active duty, hence my appointment. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Secondly my son Michael (NERA’S youngest member) is on active duty serving with our countries finest the USMC, and with that I have a vested interest into the care of our Maritime veterans. For the icing on the cake I served my entire 20 plus years on active duty. It was during my last 3 years while stationed with the Third Naval Construction Regiment, Marietta GA that I met SKCS Nick Marine (NERA National Vice president). During my tour with the 3 rd NCR I developed a deep appreciation for my reserve brothers and sisters. I saw first hand their sacrifice, passion, and sincere service to country. So with that I hope to bring the same level of service as chapter president. As a student of history, and one who likes to put my ear next to the rail road tracks I can say the following without doubt or hesitation, “Our brothers and sisters need us now more than ever”. If you are retired, you are never retired, and if you’re drilling one weekend a month you are a recruiter 24/7. Whether we give our time in service, our wisdom to our young, or a monetary support it will involve each and every one of us to getting our hands dirty.
